How matching works

You tell us what you're pursuing. We look for someone doing the same thing nearby.

No algorithm mystique and nothing to swipe. Here's exactly what goes into a suggestion, in the order it matters.

What it looks for

  1. Strongest signal

    What you say you're pursuing

The first thing we ask, and the thing we weigh most. Two people training for a first marathon are a match even if the rest of their interests look nothing alike.

  2. Required

    Your city

Pursuit is for meeting in person, so suggestions stay inside your metro — neighborhood level at most, never your address.

  3. Heavy

When you can actually show up

Weekly slots you pick during onboarding. Someone free Tuesday 6am outranks someone whose week never lines up with yours.

  4. Supporting

    Shared interests and style

Hobby tags, how you like to be pushed, planner vs spontaneous. These break ties — they never carry a match on their own.

Sample cards, anonymized — real names, notes and availability only appear once you have an account and a pursuit of your own.
